Regeneration is at the heart of this project in Croxteth, Liverpool for Cobalt Housing.
Like many Radburn Estates built in the late 1960s, Stonedale has become stereotyped as an unpleasant environment to live. Despite this, the sense of community is still very evident and MCAU have worked closely with Cobalt Housing to create a phased masterplan approach to fully re-energising the area.
Carefully considered demolition, fully inclusive and adaptable energy efficient new build homes, alongside transformative new public realm and place shaping initiatives will see over 75 new homes built within the existing estate. These homes help address the housing demand and need of the area whilst allowing Cobalt to implement rightsizing strategies across its entire stock.
The aspirational mixed tenure scheme will sit seamlessly into the existing estate and allow existing and new residents to harness that sense of community for generations to come.
